【 Summary 】

KOBE LEATHER CLOTH CO., LTD is a retailer of shoes and other products.
One issue with shoes is that if a lack of sizes happens it makes it difficult to serve customers and make purchase decisions, making it difficult to sell. Therefore, when stock runs out in the warehouse, it is important to perform inter-store transfers to consolidate the disparate size inventories in each store.
The system previously in use did not have a “store-to-store transfer” function, and the company had to create data in Excel to request stores to transfer while looking at sales and inventory data, and then contact them. From the perspective of loading efficiency and transportation costs, it was time-consuming and labor-intensive to estimate the most efficient way to move goods from one store to another. Therefore, they introduced SIMLES, a new DX solution for sales and logistics that seamlessly connects EC, stores, and logistics.
After introducing this system, the optimal movement pattern, including transportation costs, was automatically calculated by the system, allowing the company to make better decisions on inter-store transfers. In addition, since the system provides recommended values calculated to generate profit, it has become easier to consolidate products with missing sizes to the reinforced stores with larger sales scales to ensure that all sizes are available. This has reduced opportunity losses and made it possible to sell out products at high multiples until the very end.
The previous system was a simple one that fixed the number of inventory items to be maintained, such as adding one item when one item was sold, but with SIMLES, additional replenishment can be automated according to the most recent sales status of each store and product, allowing more products to be placed in stores that sell well. The centralization of data has also made it possible to grasp information such as the number of weeks of inventory held by each store, as well as plans for stocking inventory.
